John German Library in Downtown Tampa
Inside the Hive
They even have some crafting stuff we can use if you have a library card.
THAT'S RIGHT, 8 HOURS OF GAMING FUN, FOR FREE!
Tampa Bay's Games Day is a full day of open board gaming. We play all sorts of strategy games: German games, train games, abstract boardgames, family games, party games, and card games.
EMAIL US if you are interested in volunteering. What volunteers do we need? We are building a community, and we need your help to teach new gamers. Teaching people a game, and making it fun for them is what this hobby needs to grow!
The Dice Tower Con, will let us use some of the library, but please bring games to share, and take care of other people's games. We will have labels to put into your games, but make certain to label them so people know where to put them when they are done with them.
The SUP Guild is going to have a gameday in August at Learn2Play Brandon. This event is for Game designers to get input on their new designs. Don't have a game? Then please come out to playtest. It is 5 hours from 12-5 pm.
for more info see the SUP Guild WEBSITE
FLAGS is going to have a gameday on the first Saturday of each month at the Brandon Library, starting at 10 AM. This event is for Children and Families to game together, FLAGS stand for Family Learning and Gaming Society. It is 2 hours from 10-12 pm.
for more info see the FLAGS WEBSITE
Spread the word!
Announcements for Games Day are placed online where boardgamers are often found (Boardgamegeek, Consimworld, Meetup, and Facebook). Want to help out? Tell your boardgaming friends about Games Day, because word-of-mouth advertising is the best way to bring in more local gamers.
This Games day is for all of us to enjoy, so if you can contribute something fun, unique, or cool, then please do so. This is our community, and it only gets better with your contributions!
